Reading The Holy Bible

I encourage every member within the body of Christ to read The Holy Bible also known as The Word of God on a daily basis. Without regularly reading it, people revert back to their old or former selves. It becomes evident in the way people think, talk, and act in life.

God's word is meant to help people to actually live the Christian life; learn and grow in a personal relationship; walk by faith and not by sight; learn and grow in new identity; learn and know specific purpose; gain knowledge about the Kingdom; receive personal revelation; and so much more.

There are a variety of options in the goal to reading the Bible whether through personal devotionals, a Bible reading plan, Bible studies, and/or a combination of the different options. Every person needs to intentionally read God's word for your mind, your health, your life. Choose to learn and grow spiritually and otherwise. As a result, you will reap the benefits and be the best person that God has created, called, chosen you to be for His purpose and plan.

Head vs. Heart

There are many people in the world who have head knowledge.  They know a lot.  Some people call them 'know-it-alls'.  They may also be known as 'book smart'.  They are life-long students---sometimes going for one degree after another.  [It's normally the way of the intellectual world.]

However, there will be no actual transformation in them or their lives.  They will keep obtaining head knowledge which is knowledge people know intellectually---in the mind.

There comes a point in time when people have so much head knowledge that it is either overwhelming or useless though. 

God tells us in His word..."Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..."  (Romans 12:2a, NIV) 

He does want us to get knowledge in our minds, but it's the kind of knowledge which is different from the rest of the world.  He used people in His word to communicate it to us. 

For one, the Psalmist spoke some about biblical knowledge.  "Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands."  (Psalm 119:66, NIV)

King Solomon who was considered the wisest man speaks much about getting and having knowledge in the book of Proverbs.  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."  (Proverbs 1:7, NIV)

Notice he said that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.  When we revere and honor the Lord, it starts the real process of obtaining good knowledge.

We must first obtain what some people call 'head knowledge'.  If the knowledge continues to stay just in our minds though, it doesn't do us or anyone else any good. 

Alternatively, there is heart knowledge---known as revelation.  The head knowledge must eventually become heart knowledge.

"...Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will."  (Romans 12:2b, NIV)  We won't be able to truly know and understand God's will for us until the head knowledge becomes heart knowledge or revelation. 

So, there is a difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge.  Additionally, we definitely must have head knowledge before it can even become heart knowledge. 

How do we get knowledge to move from the head to the heart? 

....By meditating on God's word.  "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."  (Joshua 1:8, NIV)

God will help make us successful and prosperous in doing His perfect will when we meditate [think, ponder, consider] His word.  There will not be any real or lasting change in a person, his situation, or his life until he truly receives heart knowledge---revelation---and then walks it out in this world.

Jesus Loves You!

You just viewed a video of Whitney Houston singing 'Jesus Loves Me'. After her death earlier this year, there was a television special about her and her life. I remember part of it where Whitney was stating that Jesus loved her. However, to me, that kind of statement seems ironic and contradictory given her history of drug abuse and the coroner's ruling as to the cause of her death.

If Whitney really understood...if she got a true revelation...of Jesus' love for her, she would have had a much different and better life while she was here in this world. Her premature death would not have happened either. Her death also would not have been caused by drugs or anything similar.

You may say...How do you know? Why would you say such things?

How do I know? I know from personal experience as well as from God’s word. I know that when people get a true revelation of Jesus' love for them they live for Him. His love for them causes them to live for Him! They die to themselves! (Matt 16:24, Col 3:3) He is everything to them! Their life becomes more holy, pure, and righteous.

It is not part of a religious checklist. It is a by-product of their relationship with Him. Jesus' love for them makes people desire to live for Him. It makes them want to be more holy, pure, and righteous. As a result, their lives become more holy, pure, and righteous. Jesus also takes away any desires that are not of Him. He takes away any earthly and worldly cravings. He fills any voids in people's hearts and lives.

Unfortunately…based on Whitney's behavior, life, and death...she did not comprehend the magnitude of Jesus' love for her. It is also really unfortunate and sad that she did not understand fully His love for her because her behavior, life, and death would have all been different. Whitney would have had a much better outcome in life and ultimately in death.

However, I hope that by her example it causes everyone to look at themselves and their lives. I hope that it causes everyone to seek Him. (Matt 6:33) I hope that it causes everyone to comprehend the magnitude of His love for them. (Rom 8:38-39)

Why do I say it? Once you really understand and get a true revelation of His Love, He will ultimately change you and your life for the better.

Do you really know deep down inside of you that 'Jesus Loves You'?
